Tyree Teaching was founded in 1992. In 2002 Tyree Teaching became a partnership between Mr. Tyson R. Weyer and Mr. Jerry D. Cady. Mr. Cady has a B.S. in Biomedicine and has worked in the pharmaceutical & biotech industry specializing in HIV since 1982. The primary goal of Tyree is to create and develop educational products that engage and challenge students to learn. Encouraging critical thinking skills, problem solving, cooperative learning, and team concepts are a part of every product we develop.
We believe in developing products that truly assist in making today's educators better. We do this by coordinating and utilizing the latest information databases and then format them into curriculums that include proven review techniques that students will remember for a lifetime. We also update our curriculum products on an on-going basis as new information becomes available.
Our belief is that there is no such thing as “safe sex”. Abstinence is the only 100% method of preventing a sexually transmitted disease or an unplanned pregnancy. We believe that being educated and understanding the consequences encourages responsible behavior.
Both “The Wheel of Misfortune” and the curriculum “S.T.D.’s Not A Choice of the New Generation,” have been adopted with great success by the Antelope Valley Union High School District and numerous other districts throughout the State of California. Nationally we have been represented by Nasco since 1998 and due to increased exposure through alternate distribution channels we have continued to update our curriculum annually and as new information becomes available. In 2001 we introduced a CD-ROM and in 2004 this product is available through Nasco . The curriculum and gaming technique have been part of a pilot program for Junior High students and we are very pleased and excited, to be able to report, that the program has proven to be effective and very successful.
